Today’s Yawn: Scoffers of Law Rocker-Gradient Ignore Court Order & Roddy Boyd Shills, Exhibit Z

To bring new readers up to speed:  DeepCapture long ago exposed hedge fund towel boy Roddy Boyd through such literary gems as Mark Mitchell’s “Michael Milken, 60,000 Deaths, and the Story of Dendreon” (N.B. Chapter XII), and my own essay, “Roddy Boyd Sucks It Like He’s Paying the Rent (Fortune Magazine)“, an exegesis of the […]

Roddy Boyd Sucks It Like He’s Paying the Rent (Fortune Magazine)

In the adult novelty & video arcade shop that is our New York financial establishment, one of the mop-and-spooge-bucket boys is Roddy Boyd, formerly of the New York Post (for folks who move their lips when they read Entertainment Weekly), and currently, of Fortune Magazine (also known as “People Magazine for Capitalists”). I have met […]

Gary Weiss and DTCC: Roddy Boyd Responds

In an earlier item, I noted that perhaps one of the strangest things I’ve experienced as a reporter is having Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) spokesman Stuart Z. Goldstein ignore my request for comment for several days, only to receive an answer not from Goldstein, but from then-New York Post business writer Roddy Boyd.

A Respectful Invitation to All Hoodlums, Cutpurses, Thugs and Assorted Miscreants Named Herein

Mark Mitchell’s writings seem to be striking a nerve, at last. After months of no response but silence, in the last few weeks DeepCapture has suddenly been receiving all manner of Nasty-Grams and intimidating phone calls from various people and organizations mentioned in Mark’s work. The similarity of the threats would almost make one think […]

Rut Roh. The “Stock Manipulator” Meme Finally Escapes the Box. Somebody Call Somebody.

“Minkow’s manipulation of the market … caused a severe drop in the stock prices of a large local corporation. Memo to Barry Minkow and Sam Antar: Roll Early, Roll Often

An email Sam Antar sent on May, 2010 puked out of my junk email folder today.  Note that besides addressing it to me,  the board of directors of Overstock,  Overstock’s president Jonathan Johnson,  and our colleague Kevin Moon (who counts IR among his many duties), Sam addressed it to various staff members of the SEC […]

Someday I may SAC up and be more explicit about the Sith Lord

Followers of the twisted tale of DeepCapture may remember that on August 12, 2005, I gave a webcast of which I will always remain proud. It was titled, “The Miscreant’s Ball”.

Message from DeepCapture.com

At the time much of the content on DeepCapture.com was written, the Great Financial Crisis of 2008 was either on the verge of happening or had just occurred. In those days, emotions among this publication’s contributors were raw and, in an effort to get their warnings noticed and appropriate blame placed, occasionally hyperbolic language and shocking imagery were employed.

Were we to write these entries today, a different tone would most certainly prevail.

Yet, being a record of a pivotal time in our global economic history, we’ve decided to leave the rawness unedited, with the proviso that readers take the context of the creation of certain posts into account, and that those easily offended re-consider the decision to read them.
