NEWSFLASH - A Secret Revealed
There is something that I have permission to divulge, but have refrained from doing so. As you will see, there are reasons I must do so now.
There are among the Bad Guys some with conscience. Months ago, one from within the network of Bad Guys got in touch with me and turned over 8,000 emails from a set of message board bashers, convicted stock swindlers, and financial journalists in their cahoots. Shysters all. (Wouldn’t it be funny if there were also some in there from hedge funds and the law firms they use to sanitize their communications, but the law firms did not know enough about hygiene?) They run up through sometime well into 2007.
I am breaking the news of these emails here, in the hopes that this will transfer the legal risk from a certain journalist who wishes to cover this, to myself. I know that I have them legally, and that the person who gave them to me had them legally as well (I’d just start posting the 8,000 emails and let the world decide, but I want this journalist to get the scoop).
What makes for fun reading are the several thousand emails of those well-known New York financial journalists. Understanding how they operate, and with whom, will be the stuff of textbooks someday.
Among those communications are 1,841 emails from a bent reporter named Gary Weiss. Among many other things, in several of those emails Gary Weiss freely discusses his editing of Wikipedia. What makes that interesting is that there is a civil war erupting within the Wikipedia community between those who believe Judd Bagley’s claims (detailed on www.antisocialmedia.net) regarding how Gary has hijacked several Wikipedia pages using the sockpuppets ”Mantanmoreland” and “Samiharris” (with the help of several super-users, such as SlimVirgin), versus those who steadfastly deny that Gary has been editing Wikipedia.
All the normal rules that govern the discourse for 2 million other pages within Wikipedia have been suspended for this discussion. This has all been documented by TheRegister (a highly-regarded British tech journal, something like Wired but on-line). Literally, knowledge of Judd Bagley and his site www.antisocialmedia.net (where he simply exposes these Wikipathologies) has became such a thought crime within the “open society” of Wikipedia that not only has mere mention of them become grounds for lifetime banishment, but Wikipedia ultimately blacked out 1,000 homes around Judd Bagely’s in an attempt to supress his evidence. (When I think of Wikipedia, I think of North Korea, where happy serfs toil in the sun weeding peas listening to endless “How Free We Are” propoganda blasted on loudspeakers hung from guard towers.)
Through heavily-documented stories on antisocialmedia.net, Judd carefully backed Gary into a corner and exposed him, at which point Wikipedia founder Jimbo Wales personally intervened to free Gary. However, it turns out (and we now also have incontrovertible proof of this also) that while Jimbo Wales has for months been publicly accusing Judd of being a “stalker” and such, Jimbo Wales has known all along that Gary Weiss was indeed using the sockpuppets that Judd revealed. In other words, Jimbo knew that Judd was right, but he has been lying through his teeth to his own followers.
Again, I am stating this publicly here so that this evidence (including the emails of journalists), can be attributed to me, so that a good journalist can go ahead and publish without fear of legal repurcussion.

How dumb are these people to leave a digital trail? When can we expect the article?
“will be the stuff of textbooks someday”
and lawsuits I would hope.
Keep up the excellent work sir. You are what these people will never be. When they start begging for air, please don’t take your boot off their neck.

This proves, beyond any doubt, they never expected to get caught, but they never expected to be punished. Why did the SEC ignore Spector/Grassley letter? Because they have no place to go.http://www.forbes.com/wallstreet/2008/02/12/sec-cox-grassley-biz-wall-cx_lm_0212sec.html
Take a bow, Dr. Byrne. You are one in a million. I can’t possibly thank you properly for what you’ve done.

hi PB - I saw this and thought I’d drop you a line to let you know that I’ve mentioned it at wikback.com - which is a forum for chatting about wikipedia. It’s also being discussed at Wikipediareview.com.
Obviously I can’t comment on the merit of your assertions just yet, but I’m interested in reading more as the story is published….
any hint as to when that might be?
best,
PM.

You are the man. I hope you know you have made my day. This is what we are all waiting for and you are the only one who could deliver it. I wait every day for any more of these revelations, it makes all the work worth while. Keep up the great work and say hello to Bobo.

I told you Karma is a bitch.

Hello Patrick,
Thanks for the update. I know there will be some sleepless nights for the miscreants so I can wait for the official unveiling. I will bet that there is a lot of email writing remembering going on as I write this.
2008 will be remembered for many things and your efforts will be one of them.
Thank You

Yeah, I’ve noticed Wikipedia treats anything Overstock-related unfairly. They act like a scorned ex who has been lied to, manipulated, insulted, spied on and their pets made fun of. At their lofty pay scale I would expect nothing less of them than to suspend all human emotion and fully trust that ex…simply because he said he changed. What crawled up their asses, anyway?
From now on, I am moving all of my semi-accurate, pseudo-reference lookup needs to Omuse.

Scipio,
You invert the truth. What a shock.
Wikipedia let all its own rules be broken by a sinsiter cabal of editors and admins, not just on our story but on many. We figured out what was going on and exposed them. They are the ones who have acted disgracefully. Judd is the good guy.
I wonder why you knuckleheads call our reporting “stalking,” but your stalking you call “reporting”?

Thanks for all of your time and effort to expose this news and the hedge fund tricks. I realize you do have a real job, so if you ever need help reading through and analyzing the 8,000 current mails let me know how I can assist. This may be the first of various episodes of this type that will come your way. I imagine there are a lot of good people out there with a lot of information they have not felt safe sharing. Good luck

Pat,
You put Tonya Harding on the ice with a crowbar and now you whine that the Russian judge is biased.
The ends DON’T justify the means. Did the “First Amendment” post go away? I can’t find it. Was it for 5th Amendment reasons?

I love you man!!

You too, Scipio. You too.

Patrick it is very nice that you have put this blog together for everyone to read. Everyday there will be more traffic to Overstock.com to read the blog which is like hitting two birds with one stone.
The first is that people are able to read and understand your easy format that shows the manipulation that is taking place in our financial markets as well as the media.
The second is an exciting reality for shareholders. There are now EXTRA new potential customers coming to Overstock.com everyday to read your work which in turn will allow them to see the good deals and excellent shopping experience that Overstock.com offers.

Are there any who oppose this blog?
The only comments I see are glowingly positive……

Thank you
Mr Byrne, I thank you for defending the shareholders rights to property which I thought the constitution defended? My children’s 529 plans thank you & so does the 60K strong CMKX Family !! You truly are a leader I admire !!!!!

I knew you had more than what you let on - what a lovely stroke of skill (not luck).
The paranoid in me is asking a question.. Are the journalists, et al being set up as the fall guy in all this? Undoubtedly, the brokerages are too..
BTW, have you seen the case of Sibel Edmonds? Very interesting. WTC7?
Your “The Matrix” metaphor definitely applies. Given the behavior is the same, one has to wonder if it is all connected.
I fear the money and power at the top make getting to them a virtual impossibility.

Keep up the good work PB!
Many of the Conversion Solutions shareholders are rooting for you in your fight to expose the SEC and the crooked Markets.
We look forward to seeing the article.

Libertarian,
I mean no hostility, but I am removing your post. Imagine I posted things that mention the Mafia too, but someone responded to them with talk about about “Catholics”. I think we’d have no trouble recognizing what was going on. Simmilarly, this whole issue can be dissected without bringing anyone’s ethnicity into it.
Respectfully,
Patrick

didn’t the SEC coup happen on 9/11 ?

Patrick,
Waging a solitary campaign to bring ethics and transparency to our republic and businesses must be a demanding and difficult job for you. I find your vocal stand to be the action of a Patriot in the vein of Hamilton and Jefferson.
Please take some time to link in to the Karl Denninger website where Karl is light years ahead of the lies that wall street is telling us. Many discussions about how to bring the transparency to the markets are presented everyday.
This link is a specific discussion about your battle. http://www.tickerforum.org/cgi-ticker/akcs-www?post=33226
The owner of the list is Karl Denninger (google him) and can be seen on that site posting with the name GENESIS. He has a petition that you will find interesting on that site. The main link to his site is: http://www.tickerforum.org/cgi-ticker/akcs-www?forum=General
Please stop by and chat. I will be stopping here now that I know you have a part in this battle. Thank you for your efforts.

CONFIDENTIAL to Mr Byrne:
Just read your “Players” section on Michael Steinhardt, briefly mentioning his partnering with “Caxton.” Boy, is there a TRAIL there — one that points the finger at Israeli (probably Mossad) covert financing of the Neocons under Bush & Cheney after 9-11, a major financial consequence of which is that the same predators you mention managed in short order to cash in on America’s entire military-industrial/intelligence establishment, by masquerading as “private contractors” (companies given their startup capital by certain hedge funds with unsavory foreign ties, including ties to the Russian mafia).
I have several “connect-the-dots” e-mail posts I’ve been passing around that might help you flesh out your cast of characters AND give you an insight into a larger agenda that may explain where all the money’s going (if you aren’t aware of it already, that is) … so if possible, please provide an e-mail address where I can forward these to you without need for publicly posting these here.
March 14th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Now that I’ve read your comments elsewhere expressing your desire to steer clear of the ethnic element here, I think I’ll just scrap my offer to share rough notes from research into Neocon/Likudnik/Mossad and Russian Mafia linkages insofar as some of those appear to be connected not only to the kind of stock market “creativity” that derivatives and naked short selling represent but to the whole ugly shell-game of offshore money-laundering, exposed in part by the Clearstream affair in France (please read about) and of course by congressional investigations of BCCI in the 80s-90s, coinciding with the S&L scandal.
You’re doing inquiring minds a favor even if you restrict yourself to “a few bad men” qua stock market manipulators (even if not going beyond Steinhardt into Kovner’s backers, or into who the “Azimuth” is behind Iseman’s Anteon; or Greenberg and AIG, or Cerberus, or Ted Arison, Mega, Bank Hapoalim, and the oligarchs). Besides, the complexity of the picture that gradually starts coming into focus as one attempts to stitch together all those threads would probably too seriously sidetrack you from fulfilling your important obligations as CEO — it’s such a tangled web, so wide in its geographical expanse, and so long (decades!) in the making, it’s guaranteed to drive almost anyone slightly nuts — which is not helped by the fact that even drawing attention to some links may jeopardize your reputation, privacy, or life.
You’re already jogging across a minefield, just from staking out the territory you have, and you’re more valuable to the world sane and tightly focused than stressed out from information overload, wrestling with facts more circumstantial than “provable” in court, and putting your hard-won credibility at risk.
Just get us the facts, delineate any “social networks,” and identify offshore entities as best you can, and we’ll all thank you for it.
My apologies for any inappropriate nudging.
