I can't believe I stumbled across this link regarding the Queen of "Cyber-Vigilantes" (as Forbes put it I believe).  Anyway to preface it, recall that Janice Shell portrays herself as a "volunteer fraudbuster".  There were several things suspicious.  For example, her keen "fraudbusting snout" didn't seem to catch a single whiff of the four different pump-and-dumps her (indicted if not yet convicted) buddy Matthew Brown was running right under her nose. Also, there's the strange case of the "fraudbuster" voluntarily running to Elgindy's defense AFTER HE WAS CONVICTED trying to mitigate his sentence.  This "volunteer fraudbuster" has also written some hit pieces I believe for convicted market criminal, Hartley Bernstein's rag "Stock Patrol".  She has publicly defended, if not befriended, market convict Sam Antar (of "White Collar Fraud").  I suspect she was neither a stranger to convicted Barry Minkow and his phony "Fraud Discovery Institute" (posing as a minister, fleecing his congregation and using "God's money" for his short-and-distort work... nice guy, LOL!) 

And, now she's apparently affiliated with Hunter Adams of "Street Sweeper" (another convicted market felon).

As Patrick has said, the battle is not against short selling as it is what I believe to be a healthy part of the market (as long as it is done legally).  This link below is quite interesting because it was written by one who normally SHORTS what he believes to be over-hyped junior mining companies (nothing wrong with that if the shares are properly borrowed, etc.).  He appears to me to be an honest shorter.  His comments about Janice Shell and how she works is quite eye-opening:

His commentary is hilarious.  She thought she had someone who she could use as fodder for one of her paid hit pieces, but instead he exposed her for what she is and the "volunteer" nature of her Forbes-lauded pro bono cyber-vigilantism.  ROFLMAO!

SNPK morphed into a vitamin seller a couple of months ago, however, with its stock bursting onto the market a few weeks later in a flurry of trading activity. Although SNPK initially rose just 1 cent to 43 cents a share on March 8, its opening day of trade, it enjoyed massive volume from the start, with 160 million shares of the stock instantly changing hands.

At that point, AwesomePennyStocks – the most powerful promoter in the business – had just begun touting SNPK to a vast network of subscribers who soon rushed to scoop up the brand-new shares. Barely one month later, with 50 promoters in charge of 351 different newsletters pumping the stock, SNPK has literally quadrupled in price and now commands $1.70 a share.

Like a select group of early investors, Whetu Inc. – a mysterious Panamanian firm that inherited a big chunk of SNPKas it emerged from its empty shell -- now sits on an outright fortune as a result. After issuing a modest $110,000 promissory note to SNPK last summer, records show, Whetu wound up with 50 million of its highflying shares. That stock, if sold at current prices, would command a whopping $85 million today.
