Something strange happened in HEB at the close on Friday (6/26)

Does anyone here have some thoughts on this?

In the last seconds of the trading day (6/26/2009 symbol:HEB) this huge trade supposedly went through at a price of $2.85, it showed up on many different brokerages, and yet the Nasdaq does not show it happened.

(make sure you go to page 1)
(go to the oldest page)

here is a quote from a seeking alpha blog () : "There were rumors of  an incredible 7,599,700 share trade in Hemispherx stock. A detailed review of the After Hours trading log at Nasdaq did not confirm those reports but did reveal unusually large bock trades nonetheless."

Here is the weird part... notice that even the Nasdaq LISTS THE CLOSING PRICE AS $2.85!!! Yet their trade log of time and sales says :
16:00:02       $ 2.681       1,000
15:59:58      $ 2.68       500

Looks to me like it "closed" at $2.68 !
The first trade for $2.80+ occurs well into the after hours...

How did this trade for 7,000,000+ shares at $2.85, that many people saw, disappear??? and if it truly never happened, then why is the closing price listed everywhere at $2.85?

Then ask yourself "Is it possible that that 7,000,000 + trade DID happen, and for some reason that we are not seeing, they don't want us to know?"

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but after reading some of the articles here, I am questioning whether I AM living in a "synthetic reality"!

If you don't know about Hemispherx.... There is a whole other story of manipulation going on there!

(this was back on Friday 6/5)
"Meanwhile, Hemispherx Biopharma's (HEB) shares started the day on Friday as one of the top gainers, yet it ended up as the sector's biggest loser without any solid piece of bad news. Instead share prices were affected adversely after the company was hit twice the same day with negative opinion pieces from Street.com's biotech columnist Adam Feuerstein. The powerful Wall Street portal alleges, among other things, that the company's claims that approval is pending for its chronic fatigue syndrome drug are based on an 8-year-old government report and that CEO, Dr. William Carter is desperately trying to pump up its stock price before the FDA rejects Ampligen."

I'd appreciate your thoughts on all of this

Re: Something strange happened in HEB at the close on Friday (6/26)

diannedawn, I noticed HEB is on AMEX, not NASDAQ, so perhaps that explains that part.  However, my TDA account chart seems to confirm that right at market close, there seems to have been a purchase of appx. 8 millions shares at appx. $2.85.  If this is true, somebody purchased over $20M in block more or less, so it seems.

That's a lot of jack to lay down at once.  Hmmm!  I wonder what they found out?  LOL!

diannedawn, I hesitate to even post this because I found it on the HEB board on RagingBull.com, which is totally infested with market manipulators of all forms.  I don't know this poster.  May be a paid shill for all I know.  I tried to verify what they're saying, but can't seem to find verification, so it may just be pump and dump hype for all I know, so PLEASE take it with a grain of salt.

It's the only thing I could find that might explain why someone would buy over $20M of this stock right before close on Friday, if indeed it really did happen.  It's definitely got my interest, though!  Thanks for the heads up on this one!

diannedawn, ALERT!  You might want to disregard that post I referenced in my last post.  After looking at that poster's profile (which was recently created, thus no credibility), it seems they posted that same message on a whole bunch of biotech boards.  It's primarily plugging their site referenced.  That may have nothing at all to do with HEB, in fact, probably not.

However, it still doesn't explain why, if that huge block buy happened right at closing, someone would scoop up over $20M worth.  It's definitely an anomalous transaction leading one to believe that someone believes good news is imminent IMHO.

Re: Something strange happened in HEB at the close on Friday (6/26)

Kilroy, Thanks! That's the best explanation I've seen yet...
We've been waiting on the FDA for a month now (HEB's drug is Ampligen for CFS)... Hoping for good news Monday! That's why we've all been looking for a way to verify this transaction...
Surely no one would lay down that amount of money if they didn't know something?
I'd love to see it approved, not just for the money I'll make (I only have 500 shares) but because I really feel that this Dr. Carter is an underdog genius who has been stepped on his whole life.
Yeah, maybe he's a little off center... but what genius isn't?
Plus I'd love to see that A. F. piece of S#!t proven wrong!

Really love the site here... Totally amazed reading the stuff about DNDN, nake shorts, etc.
